Privacy Policy

About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the L!FE app (“L!FE”, “we”, “us”) uses and protects information about you. L!FE is designed to help people with diabetes understand their own data and patterns. We are committed to respecting your privacy and giving you control over your information.

What data L!FE uses

L!FE only accesses data that you explicitly allow through Apple Health and information that you enter yourself in the app. Depending on how you use L!FE, this may include:

• Glucose, insulin and other diabetes-related data.

• Food and nutrition entries.

• Activity, workouts and steps.

• Weight, blood pressure and other health measurements.

• Sleep and related lifestyle data.

• Notes you choose to record (for example, illness, stress, or other factors).

Health data from Apple Health

L!FE uses Apple’s HealthKit framework to read and write health data.

• L!FE can only access the categories you explicitly allow in the Apple Health app.

• You can change or revoke these permissions at any time in the Apple Health app.

• If you deny or revoke a permission, L!FE will not be able to read or write that type of data.

Data you enter in L!FE

When you log information directly in L!FE (for example food, insulin doses, notes or symptoms), this data is stored on your device as part of the app’s local database so that L!FE can show your history and insights.

How your data is stored and processed

• L!FE stores your data locally on your iPhone (and Apple Watch where relevant).

• Data may also be included in your normal device backups (for example, iCloud or encrypted iTunes backups) depending on your own Apple settings.

• Some features may use aggregated, non-identifiable diagnostics (for example, crash reports and performance metrics) to help us understand how the app is working and to improve reliability. These diagnostics are not used to identify you or to build a profile of you.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your personal data.

• We do not use your health data for advertising.

• We do not share your identifiable health data with third parties for their own marketing.

Sharing data with clinicians or others

L!FE may allow you to export reports (for example, PDF summaries) or share data with your clinic, healthcare team or trusted contacts.

• Any export or sharing action is initiated and controlled by you.

• Once you share a report or file outside the app (for example, by email or messaging), its use is governed by the recipient and any tools or services you use to send it.

Your choices and rights

Health permissions – You can change or revoke L!FE’s access to Apple Health data at any time in the Apple Health app.

Local data in L!FE – You can delete individual entries inside L!FE (for example, meals or notes). You can also delete the app, which will remove locally stored data from your device.

Backups – If your device data is backed up (for example, to iCloud), copies of L!FE data may remain in those backups until they naturally expire or you delete the backups.

Children and vulnerable users

L!FE is intended to be used under the guidance of a responsible adult when used by, or on behalf of, children or other vulnerable people. Parents, carers or guardians should supervise use of the app and remain responsible for any information shared from it.

Security

We aim to use appropriate technical and organisational measures to help protect your data on your device. However, no app or system can be completely secure. You should keep your device locked and up to date, and avoid sharing screenshots, exported reports or other sensitive information with people or services you do not trust.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the app evolves or legal requirements change. When we make significant changes, we will aim to highlight them in the app or on our website.
